Decubing Screenshot

Decubing, my latest/greatest web endeavor, is now up at Decubing.com. The site is an art curitorial project devoted to exposing and creating art that reinterprets normal environmental surroundings.  For now, the website has a bit of information with a newsletter signup and some twitter updates, but I assure you the full site will launch shortly.

On a side note… updates to this blog will slow as I devote most of my time to Decubing promotion/building. If you know of any resources that may be of aid to Decubing, please email Email Decubing.

Enjoy!

It’s official… I’ll be one of the ten speakers at PechaKucha Night New Orleans, introducing my latest project Decubing. If you’re around the area on April 12th at 7PM, come on down to the Zeitgeist Multi-disciplinary Arts Center [map].

For those of you unfamiliar with PechaKucha…

“PechaKucha Night, devised by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham (Klein Dytham architecture), was conceived in 2003 as a place for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public.

“The key to PechaKucha Night is its patented democratic system. Each presenter is allowed 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds - giving them 6 minutes 40 seconds before the next presenter is up. This keeps presentations concise, the interest level up, and gives more people the chance to show.

“PechaKucha (which is Japanese for the sound of conversation) has tapped into a demand for a forum in which creative work can be easily and informally shown, without having to rent a gallery or chat up a magazine editor. This is a demand that seems to be global - as PechaKucha Night, without any pushing, has spread virally to over 180 cities across the world.

“In essence, PK is a conversation starter, a networking opportunity, and an informal night for folk to come together, share and draw inspiration. And just as crucially, it’s a brilliant night out-DJs, visual treats, and a chance to connect with ideas and creatives in our disparate community.”

A proud accomplishment of mine was the building of a good ol’ icelandic photographer friend’s website: Borkurs.com

Twas’ a loong work in progress, but the site broke much new ground with its ajax effects, complimented by swanky navigation. (It also helps that Borkur is an amaazing photographer like non-other).

The website Magnum in Motion, created by Magnum Photo Agency, has been instrumental in formulating my own written and visual narratives. I invite all to check out their brilliantly presented Photo essays created by numerous timeless photographers.
